International Women’s Day – Breaking The Bias

“Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women’s equality. Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.”

  • IWD 2022 Official Theme

International Women’s Day (IWD) is all about recognising and celebrating the women of the world and their social, economic, cultural, and political achievements. With equal focus placed on raising awareness of gender bias, imbalance, and inequality; to encourage us all to strive for better.

Inclusion and equality are cornerstones of our Corporate Social Responsibility Policy here at NextGEN360. Being championed across our operations through Enterprise and Community, Employee Wellbeing and Opportunity, and Ethical Ways of Working; three out of five core CSR pillars.

IWD has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD is not country, group or organization specific.

IWD 2022

This year’s IWD theme is #BreakTheBias. This places focus on our responsibilities as individuals to embody the changes we should like to see in society. Following the principals of thinking globally and acting locally, the campaign seeks to dissolve gender bias and inequality in communities, workplaces, schools, and beyond. Inspiring us all to work towards accelerating women’s equality as a whole.

The campaign has been broken down into a series of specific missions:

Women and Technology

To elevate and advance gender parity in technology and celebrate the women forging innovation.

Women at Work

To forge inclusive work cultures where women’s careers thrive and their achievements are celebrated.

Women Forging Change

To elevate women forging change via technology and sustainability in communities, workplaces and beyond.

Women Creatives

To celebrate the work of women creatives and elevate visibility for commercial projects and commissions.

Women’s Empowerment

To shine a spotlight on activity uplifting and inspiring women to pursue goals without bias or barrier.

Women’s Health

To assist women to be in a position of power to make informed decisions about their health.

Women and Sport

To celebrate women athletes and applaud when equality is achieved in pay, sponsorship and visibility.
